10/30/12 Taco Bell

I was hanging out with some friends one Tuesday afternoon when one said, "You know, I heard Taco Bell is giving away free tacos today." After hearing this, we decided to call up the local Taco Bell off Highway 54 and see if there was any truth to this rumor. This is how our phone conversation went: "Taco Bell on 54, how can I help you?" "Word on the street is that your giving away free tacos. Is this true?" "Yes sir. One free taco per person until six this afternoon." "We'll be right there." "Is that-" Five minutes later two friends and I were ordering our free tacos. I'd say it took around two seconds for my taco to be ready. I hadn't even taken a step after turning away from the register before the very friendly cashier said my food was ready. I got my drink and took a seat with my free taco.

My free taco
I enjoyed every bite of my taco. The shell did in fact taste like a Doritos chip and the beef, cheese, lettuce, and hot sauce only added to the goodness. The fact that it was free didn't hurt the flavor either.
Overall. I was very pleased with my experience at Taco Bell. I felt as if I was friends with the cashier and my food was prepared very quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and I felt completely comfortable. Some of the tables were dirty and could have been cleaned off, but the majority of hem were clean. I would most definitely go back to this Taco Bell and I would most likely get another Doritos Locos Taco.

10/26/12 Chick-fil-a

Not too long ago a Chick-fil-a opened up on Fredrica St. I've never really been a big Chick-fil-a fan, but that's where my girlfriend wanted to eat so that's where I took her. This would make my second visit to a chick-fil-a ever, for the record. After standing at the register for a few minutes, and might I add we were the only people there waiting to order at the time, an employee finally came and took our order. I got a spicy chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and a coke. When the food was done, it looked and smelt tereiffic. We got our ketchup and napkins and headed to a booth we had picked out with our food.
The sandwich was very good. It was a great blend of flavor and spicyness that I really enjoyed. I had also been eating my fries as well and enjoying them too, until the fry with a surprise came. I had dipped it in ketchup and was raising it to my muth when I noticed something black on it. At first I believed it to be a burnt piece and continued to raise it. That's when I noticed things sticking out of the black clump. I stopped to inspect this thing close. Seeing how it was nestled in a hole of the waffle fry, I tore the fry to get a better view of it. There was 6 black things projecting from the clump as well as glassy and crumpled looking object that seemed familiar. I didn't quitw place what it was until I saw the head not too far from the body. It was a fly fried into my fry. Instantly all the hunger I had felt vanished as the realization of what was in my fry hit. I quickly showed my girlfrriend so she understood why I had said not to eat the fries. I then did what any american would do in a situation like this, I pulled out my phone and took pictures of it. Here is my fly fry.
Sorry the picture isn't great quality, but that's the fly.
As you could imagion I was pretty grossed out and took the fly to the counter. The cashier who had taken our order apologized and said they would get the manager. I watched as the employee told the manager, who then looked at me and walked right past me at the register into the back without a word or a glance. He then came back a few minutes later, handed me two coupons for a free chicken sandwich and said in a not so sympathtic way, "I hope this makes up for that. I'll take that fry." No apology, no new order of fresh fries, and he didn't even look me in the eye as he spoke to me! I felt disrespected and a little angry at how I was treated. It wasn't even busy when I took the fry up so there was no reason for him to seemed rushed like he did.
I felt disrespected to say the least and was not happy at all with the service. Honestly, I doubt I'll go back to Chick-fil-a agian. We ended up throwing away our food as it was and eating somewhere else later that afternoon. I felt as if the manager was stereoyping me as a teenager and the fact tht there was a fly cooked into my fry was enough to make me not want to go back.
